10 Reasons Why Wolverine Will Be a Hit

Prepare to go back to the beginning. Come May 1, 2009, guys will get another chance to see one of their favorite comic book heroes back on the big screen with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The latest installment in the popular X-Men series retraces the steps of the immortal and indestructible James Howlett, aka Logan aka Wolverine, whose long and arduous saga begins in the mid-19th century on a Canadian plantation, and ends when he meets Professor Xavier’s colony of mutants. The new movie plans to shed some light on the hazy century in between, which includes Wolverine’s tense history with Sabretooth and his involvement in the infamous Weapon X program.

Hugh Jackman returns in the title role that made him a star, and he’s joined by director Gavin Hood and a brand new line-up of mutants and militants that also include a young William Stryker, Silver Fox and Deadpool among others.

After three successful installments and a leaked work print circulating online, the question of whether the X-Men movies have run their gamut hangs over the new movie like a cloud. However, we here at AskMen think the adamantium-laced Canadian has enough muscle to silence naysayers. Here are the top 10 reasons why Wolverine will most certainly plant its claws into the box office and be its own X-travaganza.

No.10 - It's the only comic book movie on the near horizon

No.9 - It has the lasting appeal of X-Men

No.8 - It carries the promise of a new franchise

No.7 - Brett Ratner is no longer the director

No.6 - Gavin Hood is the director

Okay so those last 2 reasons are really one in the same, so here is alternative reason Askmen.com didn't consider - Merchandising! Wolverine has fans everywhere dressing the part.

You can get wolverine merchandise from toys to bobble heads and now even the kid at heart can sport his favorite superhero on his cuff.

Okay, okay fine...
Sewing not for you? Avoid buttons all together by sticking by the strongest fashion accessory known to man, the cufflink.

Interview Tips

Graduation is in a few weeks. Hopefully all of those long hours of studying at the library and waking up for your 8am classes will pay off with that diploma. But now what?

Interview time. Are you ready?

There are a few essential interview tips everyone can nail with enough practice. Your experience may not be there or you may be under qualified, but nailing these key items could get you a foot in the door.

Dress the part.

You appearance will play a major role in presenting who you are and what you can do for said company. Office jobs require a suit and tie. As a general rule of thumb, it is better to be overdressed than under dressed.

Pay attention to details.

You can bet your future employer will be! Adding the finishing touches to your interview wardrobe will show you follow through like that in your day to day work habits as well. Cufflinks and tie bars are great pieces to add for interviews.

Body language is key.

Don't slouch and make direct eye contact with your interviewer. Firm handshakes are important. Studies have shown that a firm handshake helps make a good first impression for both men and women.

This Day in History: April 17, 1964

This day holds a special place in every Ford fanatics heart. On this day in 1964, Ford introduced the Mustang to the world on the first day of the New York World's Fair in Flushing, Queens.

A new wave of muscle cars was born with the pony. Originally designed as a two seater, Ford's General Manager, Lee Iacocca, realized that what would really sell is a muscle car that can be used for something more. The Mustang brought in 22,000 sales in its first day on the showroom floor and one million cars were on the road by Mustang's 2nd birthday!

The Mustang was so successfully marketed, thanks in part to its introduction at the World's Fair, that it became one of Ford's best-selling models of all time. Ford profits soared after the release of the Mustang. Another of Iacocca's Mustang-related innovations was a new strategy of marketing upgrade packages for the car. On this day in 1965, a year into the Mustang's lifetime, Ford introduced the GT Equipment Group as an option on the Mustang, creating the first Mustang GT. Iacocca commented on the success of the package, "People want economy so badly they don't care how much they pay for it." The base price for the Mustang was a skinny $2,368, but buyers purchased an average of $1,000 worth of options.
