Interview Tips

Graduation is in a few weeks. Hopefully all of those long hours of studying at the library and waking up for your 8am classes will pay off with that diploma. But now what?

Interview time. Are you ready?

There are a few essential interview tips everyone can nail with enough practice. Your experience may not be there or you may be under qualified, but nailing these key items could get you a foot in the door.

Dress the part.

You appearance will play a major role in presenting who you are and what you can do for said company. Office jobs require a suit and tie. As a general rule of thumb, it is better to be overdressed than under dressed.

Pay attention to details.

You can bet your future employer will be! Adding the finishing touches to your interview wardrobe will show you follow through like that in your day to day work habits as well. Cufflinks and tie bars are great pieces to add for interviews.

Body language is key.

Don't slouch and make direct eye contact with your interviewer. Firm handshakes are important. Studies have shown that a firm handshake helps make a good first impression for both men and women.
